Venue coordinator vs wedding coordinator

I often get asked a few questions when meeting with a potential client, who is unsure and tossing the idea of hiring wedding day of coordinator. So I thought I’ll put together a few FAQ here:


1. What is the difference between a wedding coordinator and wedding planner?

A wedding coordinator’s role is to manage the day of the wedding, allowing the bride and groom, wedding party and the guests to enjoy the day without stress. A wedding planner however works with the wedding couple to plan their entire wedding day, from start to finish. It includes budget creation, vendor selection, banquet halls site visits and all the details involved in the coordination of the day of the wedding.


2. Why should I hire a wedding coordinator when there is a venue coordinator and catering manager?

Venue coordinators are only responsible for the venue and that the facility runs smoothly. A wedding coordinator goes beyond that. Her role is to take care of all the details and making sure everything comes together according to the bride and groom’s vision.


3. How are the Willow Rose Events rates decided?

We offer a flat rate based on size of the wedding, location and hours needed. Please contact us for more information. Additional fees may apply for certain exceptions.


4. Is Willow Rose Events flexible with start and end time?

We work with the bride and groom in order to be flexible with the time. We typically start our day from set up, to the end of the night when the party gets started, unless stated otherwise.
