Steam Whistle Brewery | Arianne & Rom | Toronto, On

November 19, 2013

A little something about the couple..I met Arianne more than a year ago, when she did the make up for the Picnic Wedding Inspiration Photoshoot that was featured on Style Me Pretty. What we first bonded on? Kitties! We love our kitties! So I was naturally excited when she contacted me to help plan their wedding.

The one thing I remember most of our first meeting was they stress that having fun on their wedding is very important. I love that about my couples! I love that they want to truly enjoy the day with what matters the most. Food was amazing, and the live music by the St Royals was even more amazing! (highly recommended by the way!!)  And through the whole day and night, all I could see were beaming smiles and happy laughters with these two even if the weather wasn’t cooperative. That makes my heart burst with joy to watch.

Getting to know them both has been my pleasure. Not only did I get to know them, but some of their family members who are absolutely wonderful people. They are all easy going, kind-hearted, and full of love and warmth. And not to sound cliche here, but during this year of  getting to know them both, I can say they are made for each other, and truly are best of friends.

So I’ve been waiting to do this post because I wanted to wait for pictures from the lovely Jenn & Dave Photography. Nothing beats good photography to capture all the moments that I can never possibly explain all in words. I think this sums it all about these two, and their big day! Congratulations again Arianne and Rom!

Tips for wedding budget

November 15, 2013

So, you had dreamt about your wedding your whole life. Or you could also be one who have absolutely no idea what you want for your big day. Either way, the time has come to plan your wedding. Where do you begin with the budgeting?

  1. My first advice is be realistic! Set a realistic budget. Most couples I’ve met have told me they would like to try to save as much money as possible, but at the same time not understanding how much things can cost.  It’s by no means anyone’s fault, everyone of course wants the best of everything.
  2. Decide what matters most to you. For example, for me personally, photography was my number 1 priority when I was getting married. I felt that beautiful and quality pictures are what I’ll have left to look back on physically after the wedding, so I was willing to spend more on it. You may have different priorities. Perhaps you would like to allocate a bigger chunk of your budget to great music and entertainment because you want your guests to remember what an awesome time it was with that.
  3. Remember, not all DIY projects will necessary save your money. Sometimes it does, but sometimes, it adds up to more than having a professional person handle it.

But above all, my most important advice to all engaged couples is spend what you can afford. Try to start your new life together without wedding debts.
